Geo-coding is the process of converting addresses (like "1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA") into geographic coordinates (like latitude 37.423021 and longitude -122.083739), which oasis-web employs to place markers on Global View contact (Rolodex) addresses. Address information is converted into Longitude & Latitude coordinates creating and displaying the addressee map.

In depth information relating to Geo-coding may be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocoding

Once an OASIS client site is activated via OASIS web-services Geo-coding information is populated into verifiable and correctly formated address fields.

Geo-Coding is also extensively utilized in the Rolodex "Global View" menu option.
